TOUR 3: “Leah’s tour”

LANDMARKS: the farmers market, Riva promenade, Diocletian’s Basements, the Peristyle, the Vestibule, the Golden Gate, the statue of Gregory of Nin, former Jewish quarter, the synagogue, People’s square, the cemetery on Marjan hill

DESCRIPTION: The most thorough of all my tours. It incorporates the entire Diocletian's Palace and the surroinding area, all of the Jewish sights-the Basements of the Palace, the former Jewish quarter and the synagogue- and the old Jewish cemetery at the Marjan hill. It's an overall walk through Split and its splendors, with the focus still  being the Jewish heritage.

The cemetery is at the slope of a small hill very close to the center of the town. It takes about 15 minutes on foot to reach it. Its also possible to take a taxi. The view from the location is spectacular.

This tour is the only tour you will need while staying in Split.
